The family of Terrance Francis Murphy regrets to announce his passing at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Saturday, January 20, 2024.

Born on May 2, 1942, in Whitney Pier, Terry was the son of the late James Francis and Evelyn (Keough) Murphy.

Terry is survived by his wife, Phyllis; children, Jackie (Howie), Sheri (Bryan), Wheezie (Dave), Margie, and George (Rita); sisters, Anne Marie Quinn and Jane Wukitsch; brothers, Adrian, Barry, Bruce, Kevin, Father Paul, Sheldon and Gordie; ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, as well as his extended family and his best fur buddy, Cooper.

Besides his parents, Terry was predeceased by his brothers, James ‘Jim’ and Blair.

Visitation and memorial service to celebrate the life of Terrance Murphy will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.), Whitney Pier on Friday, January 26, 2024. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Holy Redeemer at 9 a.m. followed by a gathering of family and friends from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating.

Donations in memory of Terrance may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
