Whitney Pier
We, the family of Fred Morgan, age 77, regretfully announce his sudden passing on Friday, January 19, 2024, at the Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney River, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Glace Bay on July 24, 1946, Fred was a son of the late Moses and Suzanne (Groves) Morgan.
Fred raised his family in Whitney Pier, but him and Carolyn spent every summer for 30 years in Big Pond at their home away from home. He loved to have friends and family stop by for a swim and a game of cards. Fred was employed with Citizenship and Immigration for 27 years.
Fred is the last surviving member of his family. He is survived by his daughter, Tammy (JP Larade), Sydney, and son, Darrell (Karen Trenholm), Enfield.
In addition to his parents and siblings, Fred was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn (Head).
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Spanish Bay at Harbourstone for their professional and compassionate care of Fred in his time of need.

Condolences on the loss of your father Fred. He and Carolyn were wonderful bungalow friends to us when we all spent our summers on Penny Lane. Fred would do his daily check in on his 4 wheeler and come down and pick up the girls in the Penny Lane limo for a ride up and down Penny Lane, while Carolyn made sure to keep track of the days that Mary and I went for a swim. We miss both of them.

Heartfelt condolences being sent from Cold Lake, AB to the entire family. I met Fred in 1983 when Citizenship and Immigration opened in Sydney. A very kind, respectful and funny gentleman. My fondest memories are of working with that group of people from 83 to 86. May GOD bless and keep you Fred. I pray your family find strength in one another and in all the memories you all created together. RIP.
