It is with great sadness that we, the family announce the sudden and unexpected death of James Anthony Burke on Friday, January 5, 2024.

Born on March 19, 1975, in Sydney, Anthony was a son to William Cyril and Denise Andree (Harte) Burke.

For those who have known Anthony, he loved his son, Bretton unconditionally along with, his family and friends. He loved to adventure and spoke of his adventures with Bretton daily. Gooseberry Cove was his special place in the world this place is a rugged and wild as his spirit.

Anthony is survived by his son, Bretton; parents, Denise and Billy Burke; brothers, Chris (Yvette), Chad (Tanya) and nephews, Rylan, Camden, Roen, Spencer and Andre.

Visitation for the late Anthony Burke will be held at the Pier Community Funeral Home, Whitney Pier, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street) from 6-9 p.m. on Monday, January 15, 2024.  A celebration of Anthony’s life will be held in the funeral home in the All Faith Chapel on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. Private family interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Anthony may be made to Loaves and Fishes Community Kitchen.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
