We, the family of Richard ‘Ricky’ Colson regret to announce his sudden passing on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at home.
Ricky was born on June 18, 1959, in St. George’s, NL, with his twin sister, Regina by his side. It was a bond and never-ending love that they carried with them always. Ricky was the son of the late Leslie and Viola Colson of Sydney.
Ricky will always be remembered for his kindness and helpful nature to those around him. Ricky enjoyed being outside, fishing, playing Tarbish and having a cold beer. If there was a project that needed to be done, he would always lend a hand.
Ricky is survived by his brothers, Charles, Billy, Donald, Wayne, Gary, and sisters, Margaret, Regina, and Myra, and their families.
Besides his parents, Ricky was predeceased by his brothers, Alvin, Micheal, and sisters, Marie, Linda, and Melita.
Cremation and a private service have taken place.
Donations in memory of Ricky may be made to The Salvation Army Food Bank.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

I just learned of Richard‘s passing today and was shocked and saddened. Richard always took good care of us here at the Society of Deaf and Hard of Hearing keeping our paths shovelled and keeping an eye on us to make sure all was well. We will miss him.
Regina , deepest sympathies extended to you and your family. We know the bond you shared with your brother was strong.May the memories of happier times bring you comfort in the days ahead.
