Sydney

It is with great sadness that we, the family announce the peaceful passing of Joseph Peter Dominique on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney.

Joe is survived by his loving devoted wife, Kay; three daughters, Peggy, Karen and Katherine; three stepchildren, Debbie, Glenn, Jason and his grandchildren.

Joe was predeceased by his parents and stepson, David.

Joe worked at The Department of National Defence in the maintenance department. He enjoyed gardening and playing music, especially in the church choir. He was a devoted faithful member of Holy Redeemer Church.

Joe was a humble man of deep faith and his life centered around his love for mass and the sacraments. This was a strong shelter for him in his final days.

Joe loved gardening and spent many hours tending his flowers especially roses, which he grew with amazing skill. His love of music brought him and those who heard him play great pleasure, especially when he played for the Lord at St. Alphonsus Church in Victoria Mines.

Joe was such a quiet man but that very fact seemed to draw people to him. His gift of patience was one of his greatest attributes. He loved people and was always the same with everyone.

There will be no visitation for the late Joseph Dominique. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at 9 a.m. in Holy Redeemer Church, Whitney Pier with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.

Donations in memory of Joe may be made to the Holy Redeemer Building Fund.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
