I knew Eddy from my childhood. His family and our family grew up on the same street. As children we played with the many children growing up in the neighborhood at that time. He was a free spirit and very independent thinker from early on. He was always very caring and kind and considerate. Last summer I went to visit him and his partner in Howie Center. He was quite content with the reality with his health and I knew that it was probably the last time I would see him in this world. My condolences to his partner, his family and his friends. Eddy always loved to laugh and we will miss his sense of humor.
I wish him joy and bliss in the eternal realms.

I knew Ed from the time he and his sons lived in Calgary, Alberta. Although he loved all the action that Calgary had to offer, he never quite got over leaving Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and the people who lived there.
As mentioned in a previous obituary, Ed was a man who loved his sons dearly, and spent many hours being there for them and working on their behalf for a better life. His love of music and people of Cape Breton would forever be in his heart, and it was fitting that he would eventually move back there and be with all the friends he made there in the end.
I will sincerely miss Ed’s wonderful sense of humour, and the hours we used to spend singing, talking and just laughing together. He was a wonderful guy who was very much loved.
Words cannot truly convey the gratitude and love I have for knowing Ed and his kids, and how much better a person I am today from knowing him. Rest In Peace, my friend. You’ve earned it.
