The family of Ruby MacPherson regret to announce her peaceful passing on Sunday, November 20, 2022,
at the Glace Bay Hospital, Glace Bay at the age of 72 with her children by her side.

Born on January 14, 1950, in Sydney, Ruby was the daughter of the late Chester and Ada Goode.

Ruby was a loving mother to Shane (Jaimee), Steven (Paula) and Mikie. Ruby was also a mother to many others. Cherished grandmother to Grayse, Steven, Jorja, Gabby and Rory, who all adored their Nan.

Ruby also leaves behind her siblings, Sonny (Faye), Jimmy (Marguerite), Celina (Joe), Florence, Debbie (Donald) and her sisters-in-law, Debbie, Colleen, Carmella, Florence and their families. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Besides her parents, Ruby was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charlie and his parents, Malcolm and Peggy, and brothers-in-law, Steven and Donnie.

Visitation and memorial service to celebrate the life of Ruby MacPherson will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.), Whitney Pier on Friday, November 25, 2022. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 11 a.m. to 12 noon with the memorial service to follow at 12 noon in the All Faith Chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. Interment will take place in Calvin United Church Cemetery, Leitches Creek.

Donations in memory of Ruby may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
