The family of John ‘Jackie’ Robe Digou, regret to announce his passing at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney on Wednesday, October 26, 2022.
Born in Halifax, April 17, 1930, Jackie was the son of the late John and Mabel (Macintyre) Digou. He was the last surviving member of his family.
Jackie was employed at Sydney Steel as an electrician until his retirement in 1985.
Jackie is survived by seven children, Everett (Stasia), Alex (Sheila), Joan, Linda (Ken), Ross (Heather), Katie (Mike), and Judy (Ken); 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Jackie was predeceased by his wife, Helen (McMillan); brothers, Harry and Raym and sisters, Emily Maclsaac and Lucy Gillis.
Due to Covid concerns, a family service took place on Saturday, October 29, 2022. Interment will be at a later date.
Donations in memory of Jackie may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
