It is with great sadness that the family of Michelle Francis announce her sudden passing on Sunday, October 3, 2021.
Visitation will be at 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 9 and Sunday, October 10, 2021, at the Elders Centre in Eskasoni.
Funeral Mass will be held 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 11, 2021 at Eskasoni Family Parish. Burial will follow at Eskasoni Cemetery. Salite will follow the Mass.
Michelle was born in Brockton, Massachusetts to the late Ruth Murphy and Richard Swanson on January 7, 1982. She was extremely proud of her children and always cherished the time she spent with them. She became a best friend and sister to everyone who met her. Michelle always had a passion for music and loved rap. She passed no judgement to anyone she met and loved hanging out with friends who often became like a second family. Michelle will always be remembered for her funny stories from her many adventures. She had a way of making everyone feel comfortable and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed. Michelle was very resourceful and generous.
Besides her parents, Michelle is predeceased in death by sister, Brittany Francis; aunt, Patricia Murphy, and grandparents, Joan Francis and Winthrop Murphy.
Michelle will be lovingly missed by her children, Zaire Si’kul Francis and Georgina Adara Elizabeth Francis; mother, Catherine Francis; brothers, Stephen Murphy, and Virick Jr Francis; sisters, Carry Murphy, Sayyedya Francis, Danielle Garlinger, Sherelle Swanson and Viricka Francis; as well as loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many cousins. She will also be dearly missed by her Godmother, Victoria Francis; as well as the Knockwood and Christmas families.
Pallbearers will be Virick Sr Francis, Urban Paul, Virick Jr Francis, Calvin Butler, Randall Sheppard, and Dre Denny.
Proof of Vaccination is required to attend the wake and Funeral Mass.
Donations in memory of Michelle may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

Our paths parted too many years ago but I will always remember your smile. Your father loved you very much. He, and all of us in Massachusetts, wished circumstances were better and that we could have seen you more. I hope there is a peaceful place on the other side, where you, your mom, dad, all your loved ones, and someday we, will be reunited.

I had the opportunity to get to know Michelle pretty well over the past few years, she was a kind , caring and passionate person who has a way with animals and the elderly. She dearly loved my brothers dog “ Baby Bear “. Michelle was especially kind to my mom and in return my mom would like up when she seen Michelle.
Michelle’s laughter and sense of humour could fill a room and make a dark day appear bright.
Michelle I love you my dear friend, you will be forever thought of fondly.
