Whitney Pier

We regret to announce the passing of Albert Bond on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at his home in Whitney Pier at the age of 58 years.

Born on February 5, 1962 in Canso, Albert was the son of the late Ellsworth and Florence (Horton) Bond.

Albert enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and playing tricks on the ones he loved.

Albert will be sadly missed by his children, Hattie Hanlon, Michael (Jennifer) Hanlon, Catherine (Kalvin) Hanlon and Alice Hanlon; grandchildren, Sydney, Whitney, Addison, Breton and Dominic; mother of his four children, Dorothy Hanlon; brothers, Charlie Bond, William Bond and Judson Horton; sisters, Alice Bond Brooks and Linda Bond Collins; as well as many nieces, nephews and his extended family.

Besides his parents, Albert was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Ann Marie; brothers, Gorden Bond and Joseph Bond; as well as his granddaughter, Scarlet.

Visitation and memorial service to celebrate the life of Albert Bond will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.) Whitney Pier on Saturday, October 3, 2020. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 11 a.m. to 12 noon with the memorial service to follow at 12 noon in the All Faith Chapel with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment will take place at New Calvary Cemetery, Whitney Pier.

Donations in memory of Albert may be made to the Diabetes Association or a local food bank.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
