Dartmouth
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Micheal ‘Mickey’ MacEachern, age 59 on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Dartmouth General Hospital, Dartmouth, surrounded by his wife and daughters.
Mick was born in New Waterford on April 15, 1960 to the late Harold and Jeanette (Pirotte) MacEachern.
Mick enjoyed watching western movies, listening to his music, telling stories and the Bill Lynch shows in which he spent 20 years working on. He was also the proud father of four children.
Mick is survived by his wife, Jane (Dearing) MacEachern; sons, Micheal and Sheldon; daughters, Melissa and Tabbatha (Jordan); brothers, Terry (Val), Bernie (Sharon) and Harold; sisters, Joanne (George) and Janet (Donnie); seven grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; as well as his brothers and sisters-in-law.
Besides his mother and father, Mick was preceded by his brothers, Bradley, Glenn and Brian; brothers-in-law, Harry Dearing, Albert Dearing and sister-in-law, Corenia Dearing.
The family of Mick want to send a special thank you to the staff at the Dartmouth General and the Victoria General Hospitals, his home care workers, Rosemary, Judy and Steve, to the many Doctors who have dealt with him over the years and especially, Doctor Kenneth Cameron and his receptionist Louise. If not for your patience, kindness and help, he wouldn’t have lived the last few years of his life in comfort.
Visitation for the late Michael ‘Mickey’ MacEachern will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street), Whitney Pier.
Memorial service will be celebrated on Friday, June 14, 2019, at 10 a.m. in Pier Community Funeral Home All Faith Chapel, Whitney Pier with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. Following the service, a light lunch will be served in the funeral home reception area. Interment will take place in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney.
