I am so sad to hear of my dear cousin's passing. He was so kind to me and would always offer any help to anyone in need. A gifted artist and I know I have him in heaven praying for me and all of us here now. He always went to church and he was a very devoted son to his mom, my aunt and God-Mother Eileen who passed last year along with my mom Cecilia. I am happy to know all three of their names are on his steel plant mural in the Pier. Love you Keith. Janet Marusiak

I moved into the house next door a year ago and Keith was the first person to welcome me to the neighborhood. He was always kind, generous and curious. Whenever we needed a tool, he would be there with it. Most often he knew we needed something before we did and he appeared with it. When he learned my daughter and son in law are soldiers, he always asked about them. I would see him painting murals and go out and chat with him. I have lived in many homes, in many provinces and countries and by far Keith was the best neighbor I ever had. So long dear neighbor. thank you for showing me how to be "from the Pier.

Really loved Keith, a kind and always caring person, lots of memories from our youth. Keith was such a gifted man, one Cape Bretons all-time best folk artist for sure. He will not be forgotten, Sending our prayers, and love to all the family for comfort at this time. Keith told me a few months back he was very grateful to God for all He had brought him through and His goodness to him through answered prayers. I was glad to hear a little bit of his faith journey. Rest in peace my friend.

Last time we saw Keith, he was painting the mural at the end of the overpass. Betty and I were out for a walk. He stopped everything to come off the ladder and talk to us. I've been coming home for forty years, I didn't see him every year, but most years I ran into him somewhere. When he spoke to you, you were his center of attention, very much a gentleman. God bless!
