It is with deep sadness that the family regret to announce the passing of James 'Jimmy' Christie.

Born in Sydney and a longtime resident of Whitney Pier. Jimmy worked as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator for the City of Sydney. Later in life he moved to Ontario to work and then retired with his wife, Carol.

Besides his wife, he is also survived by three sons, whom he was proud of and spoke fondly about, Robert, Eddie and David. Also survived by his daughter-in-law, Susan (Robert), who he loved as his own.

Jimmy was predeceased by a granddaughter at birth, Christina and his daughter, Norma Marie, who was the world to him and her passing left a void in his heart. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Jimmy was a person who loved fishing, hunting and working around cars. He was quick to give a lending hand to those in need.
