It is with sadness we announce the passing of Margaret ‘Talkie’ Patricia Walsh on Friday, May 2, 2014, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. 

Born on March 7, 1933 in Louisbourg, Talkie was the only daughter of the late William and Marcella (Kelly) Kehoe.

Talkie worked for the Cape Breton Regional School Board as a cleaner before retiring. She loved shopping, going for drives in the car and having a house full of family for Sunday dinner. Talkie will be remembered by family and friends as having a good sense of humour and for her love of little children.

Talkie leaves behind her children, Margie (Francis) MacDonald, Grand Narrows, Audrey Ranni, Sydney, Kim Walsh, Sydney, Robert (Cindi) Walsh, Yellowknife, Shauna (Kevin) Moules, Sydney, and Michelle Walsh (Glen), Sydney; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Michael MacNeil; brother, Frank Kehoe, Kelowna; sisters-in-law, Theresa and Anna Kehoe; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Talkie was predeceased by her husband, Robert Walsh, daughter, Paulette MacNeil, a daughter in infancy and brothers, Stanley, Raymond, Gregory, Gerald, Michael and Lawrence.

Visitation and funeral service to celebrate the life of Margaret ‘Talkie’ Patricia Walsh will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street) on Monday, May 5, 2014. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 10-11 a.m. with service to follow at 11 a.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. Light refreshments will be served in the reception area following the service. Interment will take place in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.

Donations in memory of Margaret Walsh may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
