The family of Michael Ostafichuk, regret to announce his passing on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Michael was born April 16, 1965, in Sydney, and was the son of the late Michael and Voilet (Walker) Ostafichuk.
Michael is survived by two siblings, his children and as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, Michael was predeceased by his brother, John Walker.
Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing and building trucks. He also enjoyed parking at Tim Horton’s drinking his coffee.
We, the family would like to thank the staff of Taigh Na Mara, Glace Bay, Celtic Court, Sydney, and the ICU and CCU at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, for their wonderful care given to Michael in his time of need. We would also like to thank Dr. Thana for his incredible care.
There will be no visitation or service at this time.
Donations in memory of Michael may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
