It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Eileen Florence (Loveless) Ward, announce her passing on Monday, June 30, 2025.
Born on October 1, 1946, in Seal Cove, Fortune Bay, NL, to Joseph and Maisie Loveless, Eileen was the oldest of eight children.
Eileen is survived by soulmate and loving husband, John Joe; son, Norman (Kim); daughters, Corina (Les), Wavey (Travis), Glenda, Denise (Darrell), and Yvette; grandchildren, Corey Lee (Melissa), TJ (Jill), Tyler (Katie), Randy (Crystal), Samantha, Kelsey, Colton, Candace (Tim), Bailey, Brea, Daniel, Robyn, Alyssa, Sam, Brendan, and Brittany; great-grandchildren, Bella, Bryson, Owen, Caleb, Amelia, Leah, Ryker, Jacob, Lucas, Kylie, Hudson, Brynlee, Keadon, Dawson, Trinity, Nathan, Nicholas, Des, and Jack; brother, Randy (Shelly); brothers-in-law, Charlie (Elsie), Stevie (Kerry), and Sammy (Raylene); sisters-in-law, Tammy (Yvon), and Sue, (Joe); son-in-law, Dwayne; as well as a large number of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Along with her parents, Eileen was predeceased by son, Randy; grandson, Kyle Blair; sisters, Theresa, Gladys, Geraldine, Eva, and Glenda; brother, Archie; in-laws, Ronald and Beatrice (Muise) Ward; brothers-in-law, Tommy (Margie), Jimmy, and sisters-in-law, Genevieve and Danitta.
Eileen was a devoted member of the Salvation Army Church. She enjoyed a good game of tarabish or cribbage and she loved to knit. Her biggest love was her family. Nothing gave her more joy than being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Special thank you to Home Care sitters, Kim and Dianne, staff at Regional ER, 4B, and Palliative Care units for their care of Eileen in her time of need.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Eileen’s memory may be made to the Hospice Cape Breton or The Alzheimer’s Society of NS.
Visitation and memorial service to celebrate the life of Eileen Ward will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.), Whitney Pier on Thursday, July 3, 2025. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 1 p.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. Interment will take place in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

We are so heartbroken to hear of Eileen’s passing. We were friends from the time she moved to Louisbourg. We spent many nights laughing and playing cards with Laura, Sam, Aileen and Jim. She loved a good card game. The only thing she loved more was her family. She will be missed. Fly high Miss Eileen. Loves ya.
