Sydney

1981 – 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of Adam Wade Anderson on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at the age of 43, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Born in 1981, Adam grew up with a love for sports, spending countless hours on the baseball diamond and the hockey rink in Sydney Mines. A lifelong Edmonton Oilers fan, he cheered on his team through every high and low, his passion for the game unwavering.

Away from the rink and the field, Adam found peace in music. He spent countless hours strumming his guitar, and those who knew him well might have even been lucky enough to catch one of his raps — moments that left smiles, laughs, and memories behind.

Adam was also a proud member of Local 1588 Carpenters Union, where he built not only structures but strong friendships and a reputation for being a hard worker who took pride in his craft.

He was the beloved son of Marlaene Lyle and Raymond (Wanda) Anderson. He leaves behind his son, Addison, whom he was so proud of for all of his accomplishments and endeavours, his soulmate Cheyanne, and his cherished Leilah.

Adam will be remembered for his big heart, quick wit, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved. His memory lives on in the laughter of his family, the stories shared among friends, the music he played, and every puck drop of an Oilers game.

Visitation and memorial service to celebrate the life of Adam Anderson will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.), Whitney Pier on Thursday, June 5, 2025. A gathering of family and friends will take place from noon to 2 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Adam’s memory.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.

Forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
